IT company Ipsylon d.o.o. was founded in September, 2007 as a response to all major industrial needs in Serbia for quality business software. A stable and quality software that is used to optimize business processes has become a necessity for growth and development of every company.
It's not uncommon that software packages for small and middle sized companies are developed by experts who are often not familiar enough with business processes. However, developing a quality software solution requires not only the contemporary IT expertise, but also a high level of business processes knowledge. Seeing this, Mr.Slobodan Sumina, an expert programmer with great knowledge about business processes, offered his partnership in founding the Ipsylon d.o.o. company to Mr.Zdravko Jelusic, who was, being a businessman with quite impressive experience in trade, service and manufacturing industries, competent enough to come up with numerous demands about what a business software has to provide. These demands were then set as the goals for development of this software package, which proved to be a rather successful move. The ambitious partnership of an expert programmer and an experienced businessman, combined with the enthusiasm of seven highly educated young software experts, yielded the AKORD software package only half a year later. Our basic business orientation has set the structure of our clients - small and middle sized companies.
In order to fulfill the growing needs of our existing or potential clients, additional expert staff was needed soon after. The hiring of expert staff became a continuous process.
As soon as the first AKORD packages were installed, it became clear that we need to offer more than just the software package for economic companies. Therefore, parallel with the software development, the consultant program preparations had started in the Ipsylon company. The purpose of those programs was to establish higher organization and business efficiency levels in every company that had the AKORD business software implemented. This is the only way for users to maximize the performance of this software package and to quickly claim their place in front of their growing market competitors.
There are huge international software companies which also offer the Best Practice, but their solutions are too expensive and practically inapplicable in the rapidly expanding companies which are changing constantly and quickly, even daily.
Through the parallel introduction of a new IT system and the application of the best practice from the similar industries worldwide, the basic goal of Ipsylon is to offer the AKORD business packet users much more than just the software! Old Romans used to say that gold is metal, but also much more than that. This saying became the guiding star in Ipsylon - "AKORD is a business software, but also much more than that!"
Technology used: The latest Microsoft technology is used for developing the AKORD software solution. We used all the advantages of .NET 3.5 framework. The program was written in C#, spec 3.0.
From the architectural point of view, AKORD is built in three layers. In the data layer we chose Microsoft SQL Server 2005. For data access and database interaction we used all the capabilities of the Linq framework. For the presentational layer, we used Devexpress.NET WinForms components (www.devexpress.com). The standard reports were done by XtraReports library. And we used Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 as a development environment.
